  1. Add spell check option for schedules.

ACAD spell check does not update Design Master Schedules. ACAD spell check needs to be run every time a schedule is updated.

  2. Update Electrical One-line Diagram symbols

Up-date Electrical One-line Diagram to show Existing, Demo, New, and Future out of the box. My suggestion is listed below but I am open to other suggestions.

    • Existing - gray thin solid lines
    • Demo - black dashed medium lines
    • New - black solid medium lines
    • Future - gray solid medium lines

  3. Circuit Comments

Add comments to circuits in the Circuit Edit command. Transfer the comment value to the circuit and to the devices connected to the circuit.

This feature would allow additional information from a circuit to be scheduled on the devices. It would be similar to how DM currently pushes the breaker size to from the circuit to the device that can then be used in equipment schedules.

  4. Voltage Drop Based upon Connected or Other Load

Be able to specify that the voltage drop on a feeder should be based upon the connected or other load, rather than the calculated load.

One example of a use for this feature is a piece of equipment that serves a single motor. You want the voltage drop for the connected load of the motor, rather than the calculate load, which will be 125% of the motor load.

  5. Low-voltage looping

Be able to draw loops between devices for low-voltage lines, for connecting items like sensors and power packs.

  6. Do "Amps by Phase" using calculated loads on high-leg delta panels

High-leg delta panels are always unbalanced. The balanced 3-phase amps we display is not a good number to use when sizing these panels. The connected amps by phase does not account for largest motor loads or continuous loads.

Add the ability to determine the amps by phase using calculated loads. The largest motor, lighting, and continuous loads would all be calculated at 125%. All other loads would be calculated at 100%.

  7. Populate MCC Information Based upon Equipment

The motor control center schedule includes several fields that could be populated from the information entered into the equipment connection devices. These include:

    Disconnect fuse size
    Starter NEMA size
    Starter type (ie, starter description)

However, these fields do not populate automatically when the equipment connection devices are circuited to the motor control center. Is there a way to make the motor control center fields automatically pick this information from the equipment connection devices when they are circuited to a motor control center? Is there a way to override automatically populating the starter information into the motor control center when the…

  8. Add Standard UPC and IPC Sizing Charts

Especially for waste and vent sizing, the conversion from fixture units to pipe sizing is standard for all cases for the UPC and IPC. Generating sizing charts for cold and hot water, automatically through a series of settings possibly, would be probably more difficult to implement but equally helpful to make sizing plumbing easier.

  9. Low Voltage Homerun With Keynote

On low voltage systems drawings (Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV) we treat homeruns differently than power and lighting homeruns. We do not use the circuit label, wire callout, or tick marks, but rather we use a keynote. If there was a “keynote homerun”, it would save us the time spent removing the wire call-out every time we create low voltage homerun.

  10. Breaker Using Twice as Many Spaces

Many breaker panels of old and of new has the ability to put a single, two, or three pole breaker in that takes twice as many spaces as normal. Example is I have a panel I have to represent that has a 2 pole breaker that takes position 36-38 and 40-42. It also has a 3 pole breaker in it that take 24-26,28-30,32-34. I have no way of circuiting the device and still have it on phase A, B, and C.

  13. Printable switch group loads

When creating switch groups the only way to see the loads is to check each individual switch. It would be very useful to be able to print this in a table for easier reference rather than checking each individual switch.

Would like to have the ability at instance edit or circuit edit to be able to select load or 80% of breaker for the calculation in lieu of only having overall project level option.

  15. multiple site alignment points

Support for multiple alignment points on a site plan for a campus with more than one building so each building can have its unique alignment point but the distance to a shared transformer can be easily maintained.

  17. A copy function for identical floor plans in multi-level buildings would be a time saving idea to speed up drawing.

So that when I am working on a multilevel building all I would have to do is copy the floor plan from one identical level and placing it on the other matching levels then just rename the panels and circuit names, without duplicating the copied information on the original panels. Breaking its connection with the parent panel and giving a notification to reassign panel names.

  19. Reset panel "Fixed Loads".

Often, I need to "start over" on a panel that I've assigned fixed loads. It would be handy to have a button that would clear every fixed load on the panel. Or even be able to select several circuits and clear those circuit's fixed loads.
