  1. Modify Motor OCP Trip calculations

I'm proposing modifications, or new options, to the OCP Trip calculation methods for motors.
Currently, if you have one of the options using FLA and/or MOCP, if those values are blank and all you have is a load, you won't get an accurately sized breaker.
I'm looking for a single universal calculation method, that can be used whether you have an FLA/MOCP or not.

My thought on how that can work: if FLA is blank, use the Load to calculate an FLA and size the breaker based on that load per the selected calculation method.

    Some background on why this…

  2. Add "OCP" parameter

In Instance Edit we have an MOCP parameter but no OCP parameter. More often than not in my experience, manufacturers list an OCP not an MOCP. The difference being an MOCP is a maximum rating, but you can use a smaller rating. An OCP listing means we have to use that size regardless of any other calculations.
My ask is that we get an OCP parameter, and if filled out or >0 the OCP Trip will be set to that number regardless of any other FLA/load/MOCP calculation method picked.

  3. Add Equipment Items to Fault Current and Voltage Drop schedules.

Add mechanical and elevator equipment to the fault current calculations. Similar to DM Electrical CAD. We get the requirement for 5kA SCCR equipment from mechanical and elevator and we need to know what those values are.

  4. Import Ductwork from Past Project Databases

Import ductwork and equipment from other databases. This facilitates additional projects at the same location. The thought is that if we can import the ductwork as existing from old projects, it would allow us to add/remove/modify ductwork much easier and quicker then re-drawing the existing ductwork from the previous project.

  6. Inverter with Multiple Voltages

Allow the creation of UPS (or central inverter) to have multiple output voltages. We do a lot of tornado shelters where the backup power source is a central inverter. When using 277V lighting, we often need 120V backup power for other loads such as ventilation/exhaust fans and some plumbing loads to provide water for sinks/lavs. There is currently no good way to model an inverter with both 277V and 120V output capabilities.

  7. Size Motor Disconnect using NEC 430.110

Add a feature to size and label motor disconnects.

NEC 430.110 calls for 115% of the full-load current rating of the motor.

We could also include an option to require the disconnect to be at least as large of the OCPD rating of the circuit.

Also an option for a specific size selected by the user.

And an option for a specific custom value if you want to indicate something such as "With unit" or "Not required".

Finally, a list of acceptable sizes to use for the disconnect. A default list of standard sizes would be included but you could…

  11. Set Selective Coordination Graph Voltage

Add an option to set the voltage that selective coordination graphs use for their display.

Currently the voltage is set based on the voltage of the majority of equipment displayed on the graph.

  13. Display Single Equipment Instance in List for Each Equipment Callout

The equipment list currently displays all equipment in a group. The list can be longer than necessary if there are multiple similar pieces of equipment in the list.

Add a "Display one row per unique equipment callout" toggle to the "Insert Equipment List". If multiple pieces of equipment have the same callout, they would be collapsed to a single row.

For the columns, if the information is same for all the equipment, the common information would be listed. If the information was different, the different values would somehow all be included in the column so that no information was lost.

  14. DM Plumbing - Tool to connect a fixture to a pipe directly beneath the fixture.

Tool to connect a fixture to a pipe directly beneath the fixture. There currently is no such tool. HVAC has a bottom diffuser connection counterpart. Plumbing needs one too!

  17. Net Occupiable Floor Area

Most codes determine ventilation air based on "Net Occupiable Area" and not the actual room area. It would be nice to have a feature added that would allow for the net occupiable area be added at the room dialogue level (either by inputting the value or setting it as a percent of the room area) and be utilized in calculating the ventilation air.

  18. Importing panel schedules from previous projects

We do a lot of repeat projects for clients and it would be nice to be able to import panel schedules (including circuiting and loading) from previous projects into a new project. These loads could be converted to fixed loads since the two projects would use different databases. This way we could better keep track of circuiting/loads and when the latter project are completed, the panel schedules would be more accurate.

Here’s the best workaround with the current features that exist in the software:

Set the default to the option you will use on most panels in the project.

In the other panels, change the circuit description to the other value. Then use the “Move Circuits” command. Use the “Copy” button in that dialog to copy the description to the other circuits. When you copy, the selected circuit will increment down one each time. You can press the button multiple times to fill in multiple circuits.
