  1. Circuit Comments

Add comments to circuits in the Circuit Edit command. Transfer the comment value to the circuit and to the devices connected to the circuit.

This feature would allow additional information from a circuit to be scheduled on the devices. It would be similar to how DM currently pushes the breaker size to from the circuit to the device that can then be used in equipment schedules.

  2. Update Electrical One-line Diagram symbols

Up-date Electrical One-line Diagram to show Existing, Demo, New, and Future out of the box. My suggestion is listed below but I am open to other suggestions.

    • Existing - gray thin solid lines
    • Demo - black dashed medium lines
    • New - black solid medium lines
    • Future - gray solid medium lines

  3. Make bulk changes to multiple circuits in Circuit Edit

Allow for multiple selections of circuits in the circuit edit windows to allow for changes to multiple circuits at one time. (This is very useful for existing circuits when we need to set wire and conduit size as "Existing")

  4. Batch link

Assign/Change link of multiple detail items based on matching panel name of 3D equipment. That way standard risers for certain building types can be reused more easily

  5. reset

Would like it if we had the ability to reset all items we have overridden, even better if we could do it by category like wire size, breaker

  6. Add Equipment Items to Fault Current and Voltage Drop schedules.

Add mechanical and elevator equipment to the fault current calculations. Similar to DM Electrical CAD. We get the requirement for 5kA SCCR equipment from mechanical and elevator and we need to know what those values are.

  7. Additional voltage drop power factor options

Ability to pick .9 and .95 for power factor in options for voltage drop calculations in addition to the two we have, .85 or Revit.

  8. Revit schedule for breaker trip settings

Add shared parameters for breaker type, MFG, settings so a schedule can be created that show the settings for each breaker that does not have fixed settings.

  9. More flexible options for including room names in circuit descriptions

A few more options for circuit name based on space name please
    • Don’t include space name
    • Include space name and number
    • Include space name

  10. Upsize wire based on circuit length

Upsize the wire based on voltage and length. Example is we often have a note to use #10's for 120V 20A circuit greater than 100ft in length and 277V 210A circuit greater than 150ft in length.

  11. Auto update the feeder lengths on single line

when we move a panel/equipment, the feeders should not break, they should change their lengths as we move the panel connected to it, so that we don't have to refeed the whole thing again

  12. Edit Multiple - Instance Edit

Enable editing multiple instances with the Instance Edit functionality, similar to Edit Multiple in AutoCAD.

Use case: You have a line of 10 motors and the mechanical designer decides that they need to bump up 5 hp.

Current workflow: Instance edit one at a time or delete and start from scratch.

Desired workflow: Multiple Instance Edit to change MCA and MOCP.

  14. printing of settings

It would be helpful to have a way of printing out the design master settings for a project to Q.C. and check. example would be wire sizes. it would also be nice to be able to save this to back check when something looks off or to compare with other projects.

  16. Size Motor Disconnect using NEC 430.110

Add a feature to size and label motor disconnects.

NEC 430.110 calls for 115% of the full-load current rating of the motor.

We could also include an option to require the disconnect to be at least as large of the OCPD rating of the circuit.

Also an option for a specific size selected by the user.

And an option for a specific custom value if you want to indicate something such as "With unit" or "Not required".

Finally, a list of acceptable sizes to use for the disconnect. A default list of standard sizes would be included but you could…

  19. Automatically generate one-line diagram in Revit based on distribution system.

Automation is a must! It's all about efficiency to allow more time to focus on aesthetics and functionality, the things that really matter to clients.

I would not see this as a reverse workflow. Many times I will place panels in the model prior to drafting a one-line.
