  1. Import single piece of equipment

Currently, the "Import Equipment from Another Project" command imports all the equipment. Update that function to allow you to choose specific pieces of equipment to import.

  2. Breaker Using Twice as Many Spaces

Many breaker panels of old and of new has the ability to put a single, two, or three pole breaker in that takes twice as many spaces as normal. Example is I have a panel I have to represent that has a 2 pole breaker that takes position 36-38 and 40-42. It also has a 3 pole breaker in it that take 24-26,28-30,32-34. I have no way of circuiting the device and still have it on phase A, B, and C.

  5. please show velocity and PD/100ft

by showing velocity and PD/100ft on a check layer, engineers could check work and easily scan and review a job for errors.

  6. Default Groups

Have the ability to define a default device group name. In multi-phase projects it would be helpful to be able to set a group name as the default instead of having DM go to the "General" group.

  7. Multiple Switch Legs on a Single Switch

Allow a single switch to have multiple switch legs associated with it. Currently we require a separate switch for each switch leg.

  9. Find Unlooped Devices

A function similar to “Find Uncircuited” that finds elements that are circuited but have not been looped – “Find Unlooped” or something of that nature. I often am at risk of missing a dedicated receptacle or single equipment connection that I circuited, but missed when I was going through the looping/home run process.

  11. Set room boundaries to also be light-obstructing rectangles for photometric analysis

It duplicates work to trace the boundaries of all rooms for energy analysis and circuit naming, then have to trace all the rooms again for photometric analysis. This would likely require the addition of a 'door' object to define places where light-obstructing boundaries would be ignored

  12. Circuiting layer dependent on device layer system

DM's default circuit layer system can be determined by three different options: (1) same as distribution equipment, (2) new, and (3) existing. We'd like a fourth option that makes the circuit layer system match the circuit layer system of the device that's being circuited.

For example, we're currently designing a job where we are installing new receptacles that are being fed from an existing panel. Our receptacle circuit callouts are coming up under the existing layer system (based off of the panel) instead of the new layer system (based off of the new receptacles). To address this, we changed the…

  14. Support feeder calcs for track lighting

See NEC 220.43(B). The connected load for the branch circuit is the sum of the wattage of the connected light fixtures. The demand load is an additional 150VA per foot. I would like a place to enter the number of feet of track on a branch circuit so the demand load is calculated correctly in the load summary. We currently accomplish this through a 'Variable Caclulated Load', but it might be more intuitive if there is a 'Length Variable Demand' option. Thank you.

  17. Premade fixture blocks

Premade blocks similar to what is used in both HVAC and Electrical could be inserted into the drawing with predefined fixture units. The fixture units would be stored into multiple headings with IPC and UPC fixture units. The connections would be there with predetermined heights as well.

  20. Add Sections to Panels

Define how many breakers are in each section of panel. This would be used when creating a 84 circuit panel that is made up of 2 sections, each with 42 circuits.

For the panel schedule, include a separator between the sections.

When circuiting, do not allow 2 or 3 pole circuits to span the two sections.
