Improve Indoor Lighting Level Report
Add "Allowed Watts / SF" as a field to rooms.
Add "Allowed Watts / SF" and "Total Allowed Watts" as columns to the indoor lighting schedule.
Add a "Totals" row at the bottom that totals the area, allowed watts, and computed watts.

Draw Circuit Loops Using Polylines instead of Arcs
When you loop from one device to another, be able to select that loop and break it in to two loops that can each individually be moved or broke. This way we can have "S" loops.
DM Note: When we implement this, it will probably be by allowing you to insert a loop using a pline. This will allow you to insert the loop however you want without any restrictions.

Make the note fields for panels and switchboard larger and editable
We need the note fields for Panels and Switchboards to be larger and editable like the Description, Model, and Note fields in the Light Fixture Project Schedule.

Create Separate One-Lines for Each LVD Group
I have Security, F/A, Lighting Control Panels, Audio, and Data groups and would like to be able to create separate low voltage one-line risers for them.

Photometric calculation schedule
I would like to suggest that the photometric calculation schedule be a combined schedule for all rooms instead of a dedicated schedule for each single room/space (or both options be available). We are typically asked to provide a single schedule that lists the room/space name in the first column and then the various footcandle columns.

A spreadsheet like table, simular to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation fields by panel, as they move to the final
A spreadsheet like table, similar to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation categories by panel, as they move to the final service calculation. We could then turn the load calculation footer off on the panel schedules and include this summary table in the drawings. It would also be great to figure out how the loads are adding up.

Insert Devices via command line
Be able to insert a receptacle/device without picking it from the 'Insert Receptacle' form. A command followed by the device name would prompt the user to place the receptacle like they just clicked "OK" after selecting a device.

Multi text search
implement Multi-Text search through out the menus.
So for example when searching through the Insert Receptacle menu and in my case we have several thousand pieces of equipment. if the equipment is called 'RX99S' instead of just allowing us to hit 'R' and starting us off at the beginning of the list of 'R' equipment allow us to type out 'RX99S' and design master go straight to the piece of equipment. this is a very simple change to the code in design master and would save tons of time on projects.

Select automatic conduit based on Type
When selecting conduit I want to be able to select the feeder as schedule 80 so that the only size option would be based on schedule 80. Then on another feeder I could select EMT for my circuits and the only option for auto sizing would be based on EMT. Finally, I would then have the option of adding the type to my one-lines and a conduit schedule.

Lighting loads - additional options
I like the recent addition of the general lighting loads, but there are a couple of additional things that I would like to see related to that.
- I think that the calculated load should include the greater of the general lighting load or the connected lighting load. The NEC states that the values for the general lighting loads are minimum values and that they may not be adequate.
Ok, so this is probably a low priority because the NEC values are pretty conservative. With the increased adoption of energy conservation codes it becomes less likely that the connected lighting load…

Calculate generator loads correctly, mostly by being able to specify that certain loads should not be included in the generator load.

Existing Loads & Metered Demand
Include, in options, the ability to not include existing (layered) items in panel, feeder, and service calculations. I'd like to enter the load to keep track of it, but have the ability to exclude it from the load calculations since "existing" would be included in the metered demand load.

Luminaire energy code settings should default to "input VA" for Watts & "schedule descrip." for description
This would save two extra input steps in most cases. You could still click into the box to edit the Watts and Description.

Add a select similar command for devices similar to AutoCAD and AutoCAD MEPs select similar command
I would like to right click on a device already on the plan, and hit select similar rather than having to open up a separate dialogue to pick a device/LVD/Light Fixture device, and then place it. In other words, I'd like to bypass the select device dialogue altogether whenever possible.

Print Full Panel Schedules to 8.5x11 Sheets
Print full panel schedules, exactly as shown on the drawing, to a printer using 8.5x11 paper.
One specific use for these panel schedules would be to be submitted to Labor and Industries in Washington state for review.
