Automatically Add "ON" prefix to homerun labels for which a homerun already exists.
It is customary for circuits that are shared on opposite ends of a building or from one floor to the next to be identifed with multiple homerun symbols, with all but one of those homeruns labeled with "ON <Panel-Ckt>" rather than connecting with a loop. Currently, to do this, the homerun text itself must be modified, and this rarely works well because that text reverts back to the default <Panel-Ckt> text each time the circuits are updated.

Low-Voltage lighting systems - Transformers and light fixtures for 12 Volt and 24 Volt systems.
Make possible not only the easy DM insertion of these devices onto the lighting plan but also the ability to account for these in the panel schedule and load calculations.

Add horsepower of individual loads on mcc schedules
The MCC schedule doesn't have the ability to show horsepower values for the individual loads. This is important information for the MCC vendor for breaker and overload sizing.

Make circuit dialog box non-modal
Allow users to leave circuit dialog box up on screen while still manipulating floor plans.

Current Limiting Panel
For limiting the current to track lights to meet Energy Code budgets, we use Current Limiting Panels like Silver Bullet. We have to manually size the circuit breakers based on the load on the lighting circuit. The breakers which might be 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 amps, etc. will only handle up to about 80% of their rating due to inrush current to ballasts and LED drivers. So, there is a lot of trial and error and manual calculating to size the breakers. Then the Current Limiting Panel schedule or diagram is updated manually in Acad, which introduces errors and…

Apply demand factors to loads by phase on panels
NEC demand factors currently are calculated for the whole panel, not for each individual phase. It is possible to load one phase with a load type that has a demand factor (such as a kitchen load) and the other phases with load types that do not (such as continuous). The total load on the panel should account for these differences in demand factors by phase.

Plumbing and Piping Fixtures
Be able to create plumbing and piping fixtures, similar to light fixture or receptacles in DM Electrical or diffusers in DM HVAC.

Use correct fittings
The pressure drop calcs indicate the wrong fitting types in some cases. For example, a fitting that begins with "SD" stands for "Supply/Diameter" and "SR" stands for "Supply/Rectangular", etc. If you have a duct system that is all rectangular, there should not be any SD fittings indicated. Likewise for round systems, there should not be any SR fittings indicated.

Calculate General and Egress Photometrics in Same Boundary
It would be nice if we didn't need to create two photometric calculation areas. It would be great if one calc area could work for both general and egress calcs.

Add Standard UPC and IPC Sizing Charts
Especially for waste and vent sizing, the conversion from fixture units to pipe sizing is standard for all cases for the UPC and IPC. Generating sizing charts for cold and hot water, automatically through a series of settings possibly, would be probably more difficult to implement but equally helpful to make sizing plumbing easier.

Add Standard UPC and IPC Water Closet and Urinal Sizing Charts
In the UPC and IPC the conversion from water closet counts and urinal counts to a number of fixture units is a standard table. Adding this to Design Master would be a small change yet very helpful.

More customization for equipment callouts
Add more complicated options for callouts on equipment.
Add MCA and MOCP as notes on the callout on the drawing.
See images on this forum post for examples:
http://forums.designmaster.biz/index.php?showtopic=1817If you vote for this, it would be helpful if you could leave a comment letting us know what values you want displayed in the equipment callout.

Canadian Electrical Code Capability
As the word of this software is increasing in Canada, it would be a good idea to have the capabilities of incorporating the Canadian Electrical Code into Design Master.

Automatically Add a "Jog" When a Direct 90-degree Vertical at Wall Would Create an Overlap
Currently, when a Direct 90-degree Vertical at Wall returns back from the wall on top of the pipe going towards the wall, the pipe on top hides the underneath pipe. A common way of representing this in 2-D models is by adding a "jog" in the pipe. However, in the isometric model the jog doesn't need to appear because overlapping isn't a problem. Automatically showing this "jog" on the 2-D model would make representing these cases much easier.

add medium voltage conductors as an option when sizing conduits.
MV conductor insulation is much larger so you cannot get as many conductors inside a conduit. if you're using design master to calculate your feeder conduits it will be incorrect over 600v. I don't believe this is readily apparent now.

Different layer systems for different loops and tick marks on a circuit
We can assign layers based on one-line (panel) or circuit or devices however not all parts of circuit are on the same layer. I may run some in the slab and some in the walls. Having the ability toi use the manual loop tool to change the layer system would be helpful. Also having the ability to assign a device to multiple layers would be helpful as well.
Or have some of the loops new and some existing.

Importing Revit Model Information
It would be a great tool if we can have the ability to import model information from Revit drawings which are done by architects. A simple feature would be importing the rooms. This would speed up the process and make designs happen faster.
