Groups for Light Fixtures, Receptacles, Diffusers, and Other Stuff
Be able to create different groups for light fixtures, receptacles, and diffusers, similar to equipment and low voltage devices. Have different schedules for each different group.
Also groups for one-line devices, including panels, switchboards, transformers, and all the other types of devices.
This is completed for DM HVAC 7.3 and DM Electrical 8.3.

Move and copy items between groups--yes, we will have them.
Multiple groups for each item--no, this is not something we are planning on doing. Each item will be in a specific group (like how low voltage devices are in a specific group, or equipment is in a specific group).

One issue that needs to be addressed is the ability to move previous items in a group to another group. Maybe even a copy of an item to another group. Maybe a better way to do these groups is to do like a microsoft goup. You create your groups in a dedicated area. Then when I create a light fixture, I can have a drop down while defining it that lets me select multiple groups that I want it to be part of. That way I can have that same fixture print on different types of group schedules. I can also change the groups for that device when ever I want. I also don't have to create multiple instances of the fixture for each situation.

I merged the "Schedule Filters--Only on Drawing, or Only New" request with this one. The description of that request was "When inserting a schedule, add an option to filter the schedule based upon fixtures on the current drawing, or fixtures that are on a specific layer system (new vs existing)."

You could then put in an existing lighting fixture schedule with quantities and a new fixture schedule with quantities. I like it!

This was the description from another idea I merged with this one: I would like the ability to add exterior lighting fixture schedule on the site plan sheet with just the exterior lighting fixtures and then be able to put the interior lighting fixtures on the interior lighting plan. This is helpful to reduce the size of the lighting fixture schedule on jobs that have a large amount of site lighting fixtures and a large amount of interior lighting fixtures.

I've asked for this feature, too. It would make light fixture schedules similar to equipment schedules. Makes sense.

We do A LOT of shell buildings & then tenant build-out plans before the shell is completed. To be able to group them into a 'SHELL' lighting fixture or a 'TENANT' lighting fixture would make each of the plan sets a lot cleaner. Also, this would be helpful when doing Site plans to only include those light fixtures related to the site on the site plan.
