Define data base location in directory other than project directory.
Give us the ability to specify directory location for the project data base rather than being forced to have the data base in the project directory. In a multi-tenant project if each tenant space is in a separate sub-directory you have to copy the building master data base to each sub-directory in order to work on that space. It is difficult to keep track of which tenant space has the most up to date project data base. In an earlier version of Designmaster, we had the ability to look for the data base in a directory above the specific project…

The ability to easily copy all pipes including risers to other drawings.
Would be great to be able to copy all piping, including risers to other drawings. Even if you had the option to change risers to pipe I think it would be helpful and save time from having to chase down and draw all the risers a second time.

Premade fixture blocks
Premade blocks similar to what is used in both HVAC and Electrical could be inserted into the drawing with predefined fixture units. The fixture units would be stored into multiple headings with IPC and UPC fixture units. The connections would be there with predetermined heights as well.

Remember Location of Dialog Boxes
When a dialog box is moved, remember the location so that the next time it is opened, it is displayed in the same location.

Number Circuits Sequentially in Panels
Allow panels to have the circuits in them numbered sequentially, rather than split odd and even.

Pipe breaks caused by only one set of pipes
Our plumbing drawings will typically be drawn with supply and drainage on the same drawing. It would be helpful if only the drainage piping caused breaks with drainage piping and the supply piping with only the supply piping. Additionally we place venting on a separate layer. I am thinking that you could place different pipe types into different categories and they would only affect pipe breaks on pipes in their category.

Device Count
I have noticed that when equipment connections use receptacles or toggle switches, these devices are not included in the device count on the respective device schedules. Can DM be modified to included these devices in the count? This issue has created some confusion on some projects.

Object Enabler for Navisworks
Create an object enabler for Navisworks to allow the 3D ductwork, pipes, conduit, and cable tray to be viewed directly from the DWG without requiring it to be exported to an IFC file.

Before & After Model
Develop a simple way to build and manage a "before" and "after" model of an electrical distribution system for renovation and build-out projects.

Copy distribution panels from job to job in multi-story buildings to serve lease space panels.
We do a lot of design work in multi-story buildings that require us to show distribution panels on one-lines with load info. Right now I have to create the DPin each job. I would like to be able to copy from job to job with existing loads.

New / Existing Pipe Connection Graphics
When connecting a new waste pipe to an existing pipe, draw the chamfer between the two using the new layer system (not the existing layer system as it currently does).

Edit Multiple Types of Devices
Create an "Edit Multiple" command to works on all types of devices. Include only attributes that are common to all types of devices: layer system, elevation.

Fire Alarms
Add better support for fire alarm system design.
Various improvements related to this suggestion include:
Add 12V, 14V, 16V, 18V and 24V DC device support for Fire Alarm Systems
Change loads from KVA to mA or even VA. Two load types should be
available, standby power and alarm power for each FA device.Add ability for wiring such as 24, 22, 18, 16, and 14 awg.
Add ability to perform standby and alarm battery ampere-hour
calculations.Display length, current, voltage, and voltage drop for each circuit.
Have fire alarm panels with appropriate attributes, such as alarm time, standby time, battery…

Export to eQuest or DOE2.2
Be able to export building load information to eQuest or DOE2.2 using gbXML for energy modeling purposes, such as ASHRAE 90.1, LEED, and Title 24.

Device Customization blocks subfolders
Many of our projects require custom device blocks. We also have blocks for US standards, European standards, Middle Eastern standards, etc. The Customization folder is a mess. It would be nice if DM searched this selected folder and all of it's subfolders for it's blocks without having to add them each to AutoCAD's support paths.

enable object snap for Move Note
Nitpicky feature, but it would be nice to be able to use the object snaps when moving notes so they can be more easily lined up.

Make all Panel/Device selections drop downs
Some windows allow you to choose a panel or device (receptacle, lvd, light, etc) by a drop down box. Others require you to slowly click next/previous. It would be great if all the next/previous windows were converted to the drop down box.
I feel the benefits are pretty obvious.

Add the capability to make a note in panel schedules for special circuit breakers - HACR, SWD, etc.
Would make sense to add a note field in the equipment connection creation form or in the circuiting form to tag individual breakers with specific requirements, possibly with a superscript which refers to a box of notes attached to the bottom of the schedule.
