Define fixed load by phase
When defining fixed load on a panel schedule allow entry of per phase loads on two and three phase circuits in stead of lumped loads, i.e., on 2-pole circuit be able specify a load for phase A and B on any of the demand categories.

Support Paralleled Generators Connected to Switchboard
DM does not currently support more than one source on the Normal side of an ATS or the EM side of ATS, however larger I-2, I-3 occupancies generally have paralleled generators connected to a switchboard. This feature would avoid cumbersome work arounds.

System capacity for mechanical equipment
It would be great if when entering the equipment you could enter system capacity; then when running the load calc, similarly to what DM offers for CFM, you could have Current BTUs and Required BTUs. This could be per zone.

Simpler way to Change fonts in all your panel/switch box schedules
Right now, one has to edit all the blocks of a panel schedule in order to simply change the font. There should be a way to set the preferred font for all these schedules. If there is a way, I don't know about it. When I first set up DM 10 years or so ago, I do not remember having to change every block, but it's been so long ago...

Do "Amps by Phase" using calculated loads on high-leg delta panels
High-leg delta panels are always unbalanced. The balanced 3-phase amps we display is not a good number to use when sizing these panels. The connected amps by phase does not account for largest motor loads or continuous loads.
Add the ability to determine the amps by phase using calculated loads. The largest motor, lighting, and continuous loads would all be calculated at 125%. All other loads would be calculated at 100%.

Tick marks for more than 1-pole, wire callouts for > #12
Add another option to "Homerun wire callouts and tick marks" labeled "Tick marks for more than 1-pole , wire callouts for > #12".

Color code room outlines by wall type.
So for example when modifying walls during a load calc. Exterior walls might be red, partitions blue, and interior walls (no heat transfer) green. This could even be expanded to visually shows with color walls that have windows or doors.
There have been many times when I've had to back check walls that were inadvertently called out as partitions instead of exterior. Color coding would give an instant visual clue where mistakes might have been made.

Right click when entering Duct Labels to Rotate Label
Similar to how you can right click to add leader lines when labeling diffusers, it would be helpful to be able to right click duct labels to rotate them instead of making this a two step process. Also, rotating it would remove the arrow that sometimes accompanies the duct label.

Duct Continuation
There may already be an option (please inform me as I am not aware) for a 'duct continuation symbol/fitting'. Currently I have to go back and Pline a goofy looking thing to indicate continuations in the ductwork. Any thoughts?

Add capability to have separate two line callouts for supply and return diffusers.
Add capability to have custom two line callouts for supply, return and exhaust diffusers as there is currently for one line callouts. Allow the second line to be blank for the return callout as there is often no need for cfm on the return callout. Same as a two line callout for supply diffusers and one line for return grilles.

Erase Note - multiple
Select multiple devices and delete all custom notes (not fixture callouts) attached to them.
The "Match Device Label Locations" command can add many callouts at once, but there does not seem to be a way to easily delete multiple callouts.
This would be especially useful when adding lights to a circuit that already contains lights. Running “Draw Homerun And Loops" would erase a lot of my work, so I usually delete all the circuit callouts manually before drawing loops manually.
If this feature already exists, please make it easier to find.1 vote -

I would like to be able to have the duct size update on the plans (like a preview) without closing the dialog box.

Paralleling Switchgear Support
Would be very helpful to be able to be able to have multiple sources connect to the same bus. We have had numerous situations where we have had Geneva type switches, multiple kirk-key input as well as paralleling switchgear situations where we were unable to find a "work-around" using this software. This is becoming especially common with ConEdison now permitting the paralleling of electrical sources.
