  1. Equipment in takeoffs

Display equipment information in takeoffs. (Currently the equipment blocks are graphical only, mainly for 3D drafting).

  2. Swap circuits in Revit

Be able to swap circuits in Revit like you can using the "Move Circuit" command in DM Electrical for AutoCAD.

  3. Do "Amps by Phase" using calculated loads on high-leg delta panels

High-leg delta panels are always unbalanced. The balanced 3-phase amps we display is not a good number to use when sizing these panels. The connected amps by phase does not account for largest motor loads or continuous loads.

Add the ability to determine the amps by phase using calculated loads. The largest motor, lighting, and continuous loads would all be calculated at 125%. All other loads would be calculated at 100%.

  4. Tick marks for more than 1-pole, wire callouts for > #12

Add another option to "Homerun wire callouts and tick marks" labeled "Tick marks for more than 1-pole , wire callouts for > #12".

  5. Color code room outlines by wall type.

So for example when modifying walls during a load calc. Exterior walls might be red, partitions blue, and interior walls (no heat transfer) green. This could even be expanded to visually shows with color walls that have windows or doors.

There have been many times when I've had to back check walls that were inadvertently called out as partitions instead of exterior. Color coding would give an instant visual clue where mistakes might have been made.

  6. Right click when entering Duct Labels to Rotate Label

Similar to how you can right click to add leader lines when labeling diffusers, it would be helpful to be able to right click duct labels to rotate them instead of making this a two step process. Also, rotating it would remove the arrow that sometimes accompanies the duct label.

  7. Compare Number of Balancing Dampers with Diffusers

A simple command that checks the number of volume dampers to the number of diffusers/grilles/registers in the database.

  8. Actual Tonnage for HVAC Equipment

Add an option to specify the actual tonnage for HVAC equipment in the zone dialog. Use this value to display actual CFM / ton and other values.

  9. Duct Continuation

There may already be an option (please inform me as I am not aware) for a 'duct continuation symbol/fitting'. Currently I have to go back and Pline a goofy looking thing to indicate continuations in the ductwork. Any thoughts?

  10. Add capability to have separate two line callouts for supply and return diffusers.

Add capability to have custom two line callouts for supply, return and exhaust diffusers as there is currently for one line callouts. Allow the second line to be blank for the return callout as there is often no need for cfm on the return callout. Same as a two line callout for supply diffusers and one line for return grilles.

  11. Erase Note - multiple

Select multiple devices and delete all custom notes (not fixture callouts) attached to them.
The "Match Device Label Locations" command can add many callouts at once, but there does not seem to be a way to easily delete multiple callouts.
This would be especially useful when adding lights to a circuit that already contains lights. Running “Draw Homerun And Loops" would erase a lot of my work, so I usually delete all the circuit callouts manually before drawing loops manually.
If this feature already exists, please make it easier to find.

  12. Duct Size Preview

I would like to be able to have the duct size update on the plans (like a preview) without closing the dialog box.

  13. Paralleling Switchgear Support

Would be very helpful to be able to be able to have multiple sources connect to the same bus. We have had numerous situations where we have had Geneva type switches, multiple kirk-key input as well as paralleling switchgear situations where we were unable to find a "work-around" using this software. This is becoming especially common with ConEdison now permitting the paralleling of electrical sources.

  15. New and Existing Circuits / Breakers in Panel Schedule

Be able to show new and existing circuits on different layers in a panel schedule. The existing circuits would be on a lighter layer and the new circuits would be on a darker layer. The rest of the schedule could be on either the new or existing layer.

I do not feel that the schedules should show counts for devices like receptacles and computer outlets that are on a demolition layer.

  17. Populate MCC Information Based upon Equipment

The motor control center schedule includes several fields that could be populated from the information entered into the equipment connection devices. These include:

    Disconnect fuse size
    Starter NEMA size
    Starter type (ie, starter description)

However, these fields do not populate automatically when the equipment connection devices are circuited to the motor control center. Is there a way to make the motor control center fields automatically pick this information from the equipment connection devices when they are circuited to a motor control center? Is there a way to override automatically populating the starter information into the motor control center when the…

  18. Equipment Database

Allow us to create an Equipment Database similar to the diffuser database which would include dimensions, and notes such as: electrical requirements, efficiency, performance data at design conditions, etc. The equipment should also be included in the takeoff report.

  19. HVAC - Allow for the input of design Notes

In the "Room Project Schedule" add a box which would allow for the addition of design notes. This would allow for the designer to document why certain values where chosen. When the loads are printed the notes would also be displayed for reference.

  20. Adding Further Pipe Symbols

All of these symbols came up on one particular project, please leave comments on common plumbing symbols that I may have missed. Adding in these symbols and the corresponding isometric representations would greatly reduce the amount of time required to create each one of them by hand on both models. The following are the symbols that I found would be useful additions:

    • Mixing valves
    • Water heaters
    • Grease interceptor
    • Sample wells for grease interceptors
    • Cleanout
    • Cleanout to grade
    • Two-way cleanout
    • Backflow preventer
    • Water filter
