CUSTOM CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONS
Have custom circuit description separated per phase instead of combining to the first pull
1 voteThis is already implemented in the software. In the “Circuiting” dialog, there is a “Set Description in Other Phases” button that is specifically for this purpose.

Give the option to disable copying of IES files to the project directory
Introduce an option into the standard options that allows disabling the feature of copying IES files to the project folder. The number of IES files introduced into the project directories causes serious clutter.
8 votesWe add a feature for one customer (http://wishlist.designmaster.biz/forums/76977-wish-list/suggestions/2292316-copy-ies-files-to-project-folder) and then the next customer asks us to turn it off :) Copying IES files is now an option. This will be included in a patch to DM Electrical 8.2.

On 240/120V-3P-4W systems, the current requirement is that Phase B is the high leg. Should be allowed to select Phase C as the high leg.
On 240/120V-3P-4W systems, the current requirement is that Phase B is the high leg. Should be allowed to select Phase C as the high leg. Should allow 3-pole breaker to start on any phase, should allow 2-pole breaker on any phase. Must prohibit 1-pole breaker on the high leg.

Show tick marks on single pole circuits only
Show tick marks on 20A single pole circuits. All other circuits, including 20A two and three pole circuits, show the full wire callout.
1 voteThis was added in the last release. In Options, go to “Homeruns and Loops→Homerun wire callouts and tick marks” and set it to “Tick marks for #12 1-pole, wire callouts for all others”.

Overhaul One-Line Diagrams to populate themselves
It would be very helpful if you there was a system in design master to automatically draft/populate a One-Line/Riser/other Diagram in model space based on what panels, switchboards, transformers, wireways etc. have been defined in the database itself.
The most preferred way to do this is if Design Master would create the Diagram based on templates, or a customized template that we could edit ourselves which would instruct Design Master how to draft the diagram (where to place devices in relation to eachother, size of panels/busses, what information about those devices you want displayed, whether you want wire callouts visible…

Provide a keyboard shortcut for incrementing the circuit in the Circuiting window.
We have a client that we’re doing minor remodels for that wants to see all their panel schedules on the drawings. Tabbing works to get to the Fixed Loads Input, but incrementing the circuit still requires mouse input (or a lot of tabbing).
One solution that might be to have ‘Enter’ increment the circuit and tab would still behave like it does now. A ctrl+Enter would also be quicker than going to the mouse.
Thanks!
1 voteThe spirit of this request is implemented in DM Electrical 8.3. It is possible to fill in fixed loads on different circuits on a panel very easily using just the keyboard.

The disconnect list is customizable. You can add the VFD yourself to the list using the “Equipment Blocks” command.
See this page in the user manual for more information:

Ability to store and display light fixture input watts to one decimal place. Useful for LED fixtures.
The fractions of watts come int play on some projects wit a lot of LED fixtures. Right now DM accepts a decimal and stores it until you look at that fixture again. It will then display a rounded value, act as if you changed the value and ask you to save your changes. If you do, you lose the decimal. Even storing without displaying would be helpful if you get the correct value in Excel.

Inform Of Connected Load On A Switch
When connecting loads on a switch, a tally of the load in amps should be available as a guide so as not to overload a switch. For example a dimming switch rated at 800W should not exceed 6.7A at 120V, otherwise the switch is overloaded and may fail.

Batch Device Query
Query multiple receptacles, light fixtures, low voltage devices and equipment at the same time, being able to edit properties of all selected.
This would be useful for adding a special subscript note, or adding a custom load to a group of devices.
3 votesIn the current release, the “Edit Multiple” commands can be used for this purpose. There is a separate command for each type of device.
In the next release, we’ve upgraded the command to better list the values in the selected devices.

Remove electrical equipment tag.
I would like to be able to remove electrical equipment tags. Sometimes the plan is too crowded for the tags. In that case, a person could follow the circuit number to the panelboard schedule to see what something is.
1 voteThis was added in DM Electrical 8.2.

Add lumens, lamp depreciation, IES file name, and possibly mtg height (if it's constant) to the light fixture schedule.
Add lumens, lamp depreciation, IES file name, and possibly mtg height (if it's constant) to the light fixture schedule.
Would be useful when evaluating different lighting options. Also would make identifying input errors easier when swapping out IES files and lamp types.

Import Time Current Curves
The ability to save and import a time current curve to be used in the arc flash calculations and to overlay the curves on a graph. Preferably to save these curves into a master database to have the ability to use the same curve on multiple projects
2 votesThis is implemented for DM Electrical 8.3.
You are able to associate a file with the panel and easily view it while entering your arc-flash values.
You can’t do anything more involved that displaying the file for now. You are still responsible for interpreting the file and determining the arcing times based upon the calculated arcing current.

Allow equipment callouts to be specified per equipment group, instead of globally
It would be a great help to be able to choose an equipment callout to be tied to each equipment group instead of a single global selection. We use a different equipment tag for Kitchen equipment, Mechanical equipment, Shop equipment, etc.

Reverse Tick Marks
Add a button to the "Insert Tick Marks" command to reverse the order of the tick marks in the dialog box.

Remove callouts from equipment connections
Be able to remove a callout from a single piece of equipment on the drawing.

Merge Circuits
Add the option to merge two circuits together.
One of the circuits would end up as a space with nothing connected to it, no fixed loads, and no locked breaker or wire sizes.
The other would have all of the devices that were originally connected to the two devices, the sum of the fixed loads from the two circuits, and all the fixed breaker and wire sizes from the two circuits.

Add sub-script option to Low-Voltage Devices
Add the subscript option to Low-Voltage Devices.
