Revit 2026 Neutral Behavior Overhaul
Autodesk strikes again. Revit 2026 has changed the default behavior for branch circuits to have a "none" cable type option selection on circuit creation instead of selecting the first option in the MEP settings list like it used to in prior versions of Revit. From my testing, neutral inclusion appears to work for feeders on wye and delta systems and it works correctly for single phase line to neutral circuits, but it adds a neutral count to the single phase line to line circuits and all 3 phase branch circuits.
Proposal 1: Update ElectroBIM to disregard the Revit neutral state for branch circuits and have DM dictate its inclusion based on number of poles and a defined EB include neutral shared parameter. This way we could define the neutral to be included on special NEMA receptacles or 4 wire mechanical circuits as needed and the remaining circuits would be correctly be automated as it has worked in the past.
Proposal 2: For branch circuits with cable type equal to none, disregard Revit's default state to include it and have ElectroBIM not include it. If branch circuit cable is not equal to none, then follow Revit for neutral inclusion.
We are currently having to utilize a custom shared parameter Boolean on specific electrical fixtures and manually run a full model circuit audit script to set the cable type for the sole purpose of fixing our EB wire counts. Our goal was to use electroBIM to automate the majority of the circuit wire callouts so having to run whole model correction scripts is moving in the opposite direction. Please save us from Autodesk's Revit changes.
