Add the capability to make a note in panel schedules for special circuit breakers - HACR, SWD, etc.
Would make sense to add a note field in the equipment connection creation form or in the circuiting form to tag individual breakers with specific requirements, possibly with a superscript which refers to a box of notes attached to the bottom of the schedule.

Fire Alarms
Add better support for fire alarm system design.
Various improvements related to this suggestion include:
Add 12V, 14V, 16V, 18V and 24V DC device support for Fire Alarm Systems
Change loads from KVA to mA or even VA. Two load types should be
available, standby power and alarm power for each FA device.Add ability for wiring such as 24, 22, 18, 16, and 14 awg.
Add ability to perform standby and alarm battery ampere-hour
calculations.Display length, current, voltage, and voltage drop for each circuit.
Have fire alarm panels with appropriate attributes, such as alarm time, standby time, battery…

Multi text search
implement Multi-Text search through out the menus.
So for example when searching through the Insert Receptacle menu and in my case we have several thousand pieces of equipment. if the equipment is called 'RX99S' instead of just allowing us to hit 'R' and starting us off at the beginning of the list of 'R' equipment allow us to type out 'RX99S' and design master go straight to the piece of equipment. this is a very simple change to the code in design master and would save tons of time on projects.

Low Voltage Homerun With Keynote
On low voltage systems drawings (Fire Alarm, Security, CCTV) we treat homeruns differently than power and lighting homeruns. We do not use the circuit label, wire callout, or tick marks, but rather we use a keynote. If there was a “keynote homerun”, it would save us the time spent removing the wire call-out every time we create low voltage homerun.

Unique ID for all Feeders and Branch Circuits
Have a way to make a unique cable ID for every feeder, branch circuit and low voltage circuit. For example P-MCC1-001 for the power cable fed from MCC1 or PT-FLOWGAS-003 for a pressure transmitter.
I'm working on a big industrial plant where I need a have a cable number for every cable in the plant.
I would like to have the ID on the one line, plan view drawing and export to Excel.

Different layer systems for different loops and tick marks on a circuit
We can assign layers based on one-line (panel) or circuit or devices however not all parts of circuit are on the same layer. I may run some in the slab and some in the walls. Having the ability toi use the manual loop tool to change the layer system would be helpful. Also having the ability to assign a device to multiple layers would be helpful as well.
Or have some of the loops new and some existing.

Incorporate adjustable trip breakers
Add the ability to specify breakers with electronic trip units (ETUs), aka adjustable trip breakers, in Design Master projects.
The intent of adding this capability would be to allow the user to flag where an ETU is used and display the required/desired settings.
It would NOT be the intent to make DM have the functionality to do the coordination studies necessary to develop the settings.
1) Electronic trip breakers, when used, are usually MCBs or feeder breakers with the following characteristics:
Breaker Frame (AF)
Breaker trip (AT)
Breaker plug size (AP)*Long-time pickup (LTPU)
Long-time delay (LTD)
Short-time pickup (STPU) …4 votes -

A spreadsheet like table, simular to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation fields by panel, as they move to the final
A spreadsheet like table, similar to the fault calculations, that shows all the load calculation categories by panel, as they move to the final service calculation. We could then turn the load calculation footer off on the panel schedules and include this summary table in the drawings. It would also be great to figure out how the loads are adding up.

Device Count
I have noticed that when equipment connections use receptacles or toggle switches, these devices are not included in the device count on the respective device schedules. Can DM be modified to included these devices in the count? This issue has created some confusion on some projects.
