Smarter feeder lengths from plan view blocks
Currently, when two plan view blocks, for example a panel and subpanel, are very close (say 1 foot apart), the feeder length may be as much as 16 feet. Electricians often ask if they need to add extra length to meet short ckt calc. Of course, one can manually adjust the length in the panel definition, but one should not have to. It should be assumed that this will be a nipple 1 foot long - not run under ground and back up. DM adds 10 feet to each feeder.
3 votesWe added an option to DM Electrical 8.2 for feeders shorter than a certain length to not add the additional feeder length.

Display tick marks for #10 wires
Display tick marks instead of wire callouts on all homeruns in a projects (not just for wires that are #12).
Make it so that P-7 (the Yes column & No row) in this image gets tick marks:
http://www.designmaster.biz/support/blog/2010/08/homerun-wire-callout-and-tick-mark-options/3 votesThis was added in a previous release. In Options, go to “Homeruns and Loops→Homerun wire callouts and tick marks” and set it to “Tick marks for all homeruns”.

Add the ability to customize the "EDIT ONELINE DEVICE LABELS" for all devices.
Add the ability to customize the "EDIT ONE-LINE DEVICE LABELS" for all each type of one-line device. When inserting devices into the one-line we need to add the same prefix and suffix to each device. As an example we add prefix CONNECTED and suffix KVA to each panel to show the connected KVA.

Import Multiple Items from Master Schedule
When importing items from the master schedule to the project schedule using the "Import from Master Schedule" button, allow multiple items to be selected and imported at once. (Currently you are limited to importing one item or all of the items.)
3 votesThis will be included in DM Electrical 8.2, DM HVAC 7.2, and DM Plumbing 3.2.

Equipment Connections with Shared Definitions
Create a way to schedule equipment similar to light fixtures or receptacles so that you have multiple instances of one type of equipment. Often a piece of equipment appears multiple times in a project. This feature will make it easier to update when the definition of the equipment changes.
3 votesWe implemented what we hope covers the spirit of this request in DM Electrical 8.3. Rather than make shared definitions, we decided to make it possible (and easy) to change multiple pieces of equipment at once. Using the “Edit Multiple Equipment” command, you can select all the similar equipment and make changes to all of it at once.

Improve Duct Break Graphics
Omit the line that appears on only one side of a transparent duct section. Simply make the duct section transparent and allow the user to insert symbols as desired.
3 votesWe have added this as an option for DM HVAC 7.0.

Odd Duct Sizes
Add an option to size ducts to odd sizes for certain small ducts (5", 7", 9").
3 votesThis is completed for DM HVAC 7.1. It is implemented as a project-wide option. You cannot have some systems size to odd duct sizes and others not size to them. If you need anything more complicated like that, let us know.

Locked Values Report
Create a report of all values that are locked, overridden, or otherwise changed from the default value by the user.
2 votesThe Override Review feature was added in DM Electrical RT 2.1.1.

Individual Customization Settings Import/Export
At times I just want to push some changes I made, say to the wire ampacities, to our template from a project. However, I am always concerned that other settings my be incidentally changed since the import/export is all or nothing.
Providing a dialog to select what gets imported/exported or providing import/export in the individual dialogs would be helpful. I think the former would be preferred.
2 votesWe added options for what to import and export to DM Electrical RT 2.1.1.

Unique ID for each feeder in the project
Assign a unique ID to each feeder in a project that can be scheduled in Revit and displayed in the AutoCAD one-line diagram.
2 votesThis feature can be handled in DM Electrical RT 2.1.2. The EVOLVE integration included a Conduit ID field for each feeder that is unique.
-
Import and Export Customization Settings
Be able to import and export customization settings from a project (options, conduit sizes, wire sizes, and wire ampacities).
2 votesThis feature is completed and will be included in DM Electrical RT 1.2 when it is released.

Remove "DM HVAC", "DM Elec", and "DM Plumb" from AutoCAD window titlebar
Remove "DM HVAC", "DM Elec", and "DM Plumb" from AutoCAD window titlebar.
2 votesDon’t remember which release we made this change in, but we have removed our text from the AutoCAD titlebar.

Default one-line labels for dynamically sized one-line blocks
By default, creating a one-line diagram generates panel blocks with dynamically sized width to accommodate the number of outgoing connections. This is because the default riser block for panels is set to <Custom Panel Box with Bus>. As a result, a panel that feeds three other panels will have a one-line block three times as wide as a panel which feeds only one panel.
If a user wants to generate one-line diagrams which include a default set of labels, they first have to create a one-line block containing the desired labels from entities in the drawing. However, when the user…

Air Diffuser Schedule - Mounting Type & Material
It would be nice to include (2) additional properties within the diffuser schedule:
1) Mounting type (i.e. Surface Mount, Lay-In, Spiral Duct, etc.)
2) Material (Steel, Aluminum, etc.)2 votesWe added two more generic notes to diffuser schedules in Design Master HVAC 7.4 to address this request.

Have the option to assign a fixed Outside Air CFM to a zone. This will help address over-ventilation to maintain positive building pressure
Have the option to assign a fixed Outside Air CFM to a zone. This will help address zones that need over-ventilation to maintain a positive building pressure.

Representing Different Floors on Parallel Backgrounds
A common practice, at least within my own company, is to represent different floors in parallel background drawings separated by an arbitrary and regular distance. It would be helpful for creating drawings if Design Master automatically added to these parallel drawings when a pipe would transfer from one floor to another. For example when a pipe from the first floor goes to the second floor in a vertical pipe it would be useful if Design Master showed the pipe going up on the first floor and coming up on the second floor automatically. These two entities would have to be…

Ability to store and display light fixture input watts to one decimal place. Useful for LED fixtures.
The fractions of watts come int play on some projects wit a lot of LED fixtures. Right now DM accepts a decimal and stores it until you look at that fixture again. It will then display a rounded value, act as if you changed the value and ask you to save your changes. If you do, you lose the decimal. Even storing without displaying would be helpful if you get the correct value in Excel.
2 votesAdded to DM Electrical 8.2.8.

Add lumens, lamp depreciation, IES file name, and possibly mtg height (if it's constant) to the light fixture schedule.
Add lumens, lamp depreciation, IES file name, and possibly mtg height (if it's constant) to the light fixture schedule.
Would be useful when evaluating different lighting options. Also would make identifying input errors easier when swapping out IES files and lamp types.

Import Time Current Curves
The ability to save and import a time current curve to be used in the arc flash calculations and to overlay the curves on a graph. Preferably to save these curves into a master database to have the ability to use the same curve on multiple projects
2 votesThis is implemented for DM Electrical 8.3.
You are able to associate a file with the panel and easily view it while entering your arc-flash values.
You can’t do anything more involved that displaying the file for now. You are still responsible for interpreting the file and determining the arcing times based upon the calculated arcing current.
