Edit Multiple Equipment and Equipment Navigation
Add a new "Edit Multiple Equipment" command. You can select multiple pieces of equipment either from a list in the database or from the drawing. You can then make changes to all the selected equipment at once.
Add "Find", "Next", and "Previous" buttons to the equipment dialog box that work like in the panel or schedule dialog boxes.
42 votesThis will be included in DM Electrical 8.3.
-
Export Lighting to ComCheck
Be able to export lighting information to ComCheck for energy code compliance purposes.
34 votesThis is completed for DM Electrical 8.3. Thank you for everyone who replied to my emails and sent sample projects.

Residential and Other Electrical Load Types
Account for the rest of the load types in NEC 220 Part II, Part III, and Part IV that are currently ignored.
Load types that will be included:
Existing loads that can be specified for each panel (NEC 220.87).
Cooling loads. The panel load calculation will use the larger of the heating and cooling loads.
33 votesThis is completed and will be included in DM Electrical 8.3.
-
Multiple Homeruns on a Circuit
Be able to draw multiple homeruns on a circuit, rather than the one that you are currently limited to.
33 votesThis feature is completed for DM Electrical 8.3.
-
Overloaded Panel Warning
Add a warning to the panels that would alert the designer when the total load exceeds the ampere rating. (Possibly as an X across the schedule when it is updated).
This would able to be turned on or off with a per-user setting.
32 votesThis feature is included in Design Master Electrical 8.5.
-
Add twin breakers (2 circuits per space) to panel
I often find twin or tandem breakers in existing panels. There is no way to circuit them now.
31 votesThis feature is completed for DM Electrical 8.3.
-
Add Dual Voltage and Universal Ballast Light Fixtures
Allow light fixtures to have multiple voltages, such as 120V and 277V, or have a universal ballast that can be used with any voltage.
28 votesThis feature is finished for DM Electrical 8.1. See the comments for a description of how the feature will work.
Thanks for voting for this feature—I would not have guessed it would be so popular. All your votes should be returned to you now. Let us know what else you would like to see added to the software.

Print Panel Schedules to Place Inside Panels
Add a command to print panel schedules that can be placed inside panels. The panel schedule will have options to include some basic information in the header, and then list each circuit and the load description.
The width of the panel schedule will be variable to accommodate the various size sleeves that panels come with.
27 votesThis feature will be included in Design Master Electrical 8.4.

Overhaul One-Line Diagrams to populate themselves
It would be very helpful if you there was a system in design master to automatically draft/populate a One-Line/Riser/other Diagram in model space based on what panels, switchboards, transformers, wireways etc. have been defined in the database itself.
The most preferred way to do this is if Design Master would create the Diagram based on templates, or a customized template that we could edit ourselves which would instruct Design Master how to draft the diagram (where to place devices in relation to eachother, size of panels/busses, what information about those devices you want displayed, whether you want wire callouts visible…
26 votesThis feature will be included in Design Master Electrical 8.4.

Provide automatic sizing of breakers for motors & transformers
The breaker for motors & transformers need to be manually selected. A default suggestion for the motor hp and transformer kva would save time.
23 votesEquipment breakers are sized automatically in DM Electrical 8.0 using MCA and MOCP. You can also assign specific breaker and wire sizes for equipment in the equipment dialog, not the circuiting dialog.
Transformer breaker sizes are currently set automatically when you change the kVA or voltage. In DM Electrical 8.1, we are adding a “Size to match kVA” option to the transformer OCP selection to make it more obvious this is happening.
I think this covers the features in this request. If not, let me know.

We need an easy way to deal with multiple identical panels
We need an easy way to deal with multiple identical electrical panels
18 votesThis is implemented for DM Electrical 8.3.
-
Allow Circuit Descriptions in Panels to Wrap
Make it so that if a circuit description in a panel is too long, it adds another line rather than extending off the panel.
17 votesThis feature is completed and will be included in Design Master Electrical 8.1.
-
Transformer and Other One-Line Device Schedule
Create a schedule like the light fixture or equipment schedule that lists all of the transformers, panels, or other one-line devices in a project.
16 votesThis is implemented in Design Master Electrical 8.1.

Photometrics becoming bigger and better
Its a great and amazing feature to be able to do photo metrics right in AutoCAD. Along the same lines of how great DM works in AutoCAD. But if there was a way to make it work more precise and user friendly. Be able to implement some of the same features of Visual and AGI would be amazing. Making it your one shop stop do doing photo calcs etc. One thing that would be great to is if it could utilize the IES files and auto populate some of the light fixture specs.
10 votesFinished for DM Electrical 8.2. See comments for more info.

Inform Of Connected Load On A Switch
When connecting loads on a switch, a tally of the load in amps should be available as a guide so as not to overload a switch. For example a dimming switch rated at 800W should not exceed 6.7A at 120V, otherwise the switch is overloaded and may fail.
9 votesThis feature will be included in DM Electrical 8.4.

Give the option to disable copying of IES files to the project directory
Introduce an option into the standard options that allows disabling the feature of copying IES files to the project folder. The number of IES files introduced into the project directories causes serious clutter.
8 votesWe add a feature for one customer (http://wishlist.designmaster.biz/forums/76977-wish-list/suggestions/2292316-copy-ies-files-to-project-folder) and then the next customer asks us to turn it off :) Copying IES files is now an option. This will be included in a patch to DM Electrical 8.2.

Edit multiple equipment/panels/devices
This would be helpful when changing the voltage of a group of lights or panels on a project. It would also be helpful when adding a standard note to the bottom of all of the panels. It would be nice not to have to change the note, click next, change the note, click next.. etc.
8 votesEdit multiple for most devices was added in DM Electrical 8.3. Edit multiple for panels will be added in DM Electrical 8.4.

add a panel based demand factor for devices
Under Design Master Electrical Options=>Miscellaneous=>Custom Load Type=>Calculation Method, add a fourth option which is call “Panel Based” which would still have a default demand factor. Then when we go in to circuit a device with that demand factor name we will circuit it to the default demand. However, as we move up to upstream panels and see that device circuited already, we can change the demand factor in the circuit panel which is typically dimmed. This will solve the problem we have of dealing with Trailer parks, docks, Ranges, Dryers, and other devices that have different demands as you move…
8 votesThis is implemented for DM Electrical 8.3.

Upsize Ground Wire Automatically
When upsizing conductors for voltage drop, automatically upsize the ground wire too based upon the increase in wire area.
7 votesImplemented for DM Electrical 8.5. We considered patching it in to 8.4 but it ended up being a pretty significant change so it has to wait for the next major release.

Default Lighting and Fault Current Schedules
Give us the ability to set default styles/values for fault current and lighting fixture schedules so we don't have to recreate them for every project.
7 votesYou should be able to accomplish this with the standards and master databases currently available. I wrote a support blog post to explain the process:
http://www.designmaster.biz/Support/blog/2010/09/master-and-standards-customization-databases/If there is still something missing, post a comment to this request to let me know about it.
